Raiders sign free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh

The Raiders have inked former Ravens and Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh to bolster its receiving corps.

The team confirmed the deal Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
Raiders QB Carson Palmer, whowholesale jerseys was acquired last month, wanted the 34-year old free agent in Oakland after the two spent some of Palmer's semi-retirement working out together in California, according to ESPN.

Head coach Hue Jackson was a Bengals wide receivers coach for three of Houshmandzadeh's eight seasons in Cincinnati.

Palmer earlier shot down the proscheap jerseypect of acquiring free agent Terrell Owens, citing Oakland's wealth of potential at the position.

"The problem is that for him to get here there's not anybody that we could let go," Palmer told San Francisco's 95.7 The Game. "We have a stable of young horses that can run... and it's 2011 MLB ALL Star Jerseystough to give up a young guy with a lot of potential for a guy that's got a lot of history in the league that's in his late 30s.

"So I can't see him coming here but I had a good time playing with him and he's an explosive player himself."

Houshmandzadeh played in all 16 games for the Ravens last year, catching 30 passes for 398 yards. He was not re-signed in the offseason. In his last season as a Bengal in 2008, the former seventh-round pick caught 92 passes for 902 yards and four touchdowns.cheap jerseys

In his first game as a Raider, Palmer threw three interceptions in replacement of Kyle Boller, who tossed three interceptions of his own in the first half of their 28-0 loss to the Chiefs.
